Religion in China

Since Catholic churches are relatively common in Shanxi province, China, there are a lot of locals who attend churches regularly. I joined them in Lishi District on Christmas Eve 2023 and was able to document the service that lasted for more than seven hours. That night, there were more people coming than the church could hold. Even though living lives not that wealthy and very separated from the outside world, they still kept pious hearts. They did their best to accommodate the needs of everyone, offering meals and places for people to stay.
